BGSU Women's Golf Finishes Tied for Fifth at Cardinal Classic

Yorktown, Ind. - The Bowling Green State University women's golf team finished tied for fifth at the season-opening Cardinal Classic in Yorktown, Ind. The 36-hole, two-day tournament was hosted by Ball State at The Players Club, Saturday and Sunday.
BGSU finished with a team score of 633 (312, 321), good enough for a fifth-place tie with Southern Indiana in the 17-team field. Western Michigan won the tournament with a score of 606.
Individually, senior Jenny Schnipke was the top finisher for the Falcons placing tied for 13th place with a 36-hole score of 154 (76, 78). Sophomore Amanda Schroeder was tied for 16th place with a score of 155 (78, 77). Freshman Kari Liggett, competing in her first collegiate tournament, finished tied for 37th place with a score of 162 (82, 80). Seniors Julie Wise and Kari Evans each tied for 50th place with a score of 166.
The Falcons return to Bowling Green to host the Falcon Invitational next weekend, Sept. 13-14, at Forrest Creason Golf Course.
