Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University football team is ranked 35th in the latest ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll and 34th in the this week's Associated Press rankings after its 27-26 upset win at #16 Purdue.
The Falcons received 26 votes from the coaches an improvement of 23 votes from last week. BGSU also received 24 votes from the media.
Other National Rankings
The Falcons are third in the nation in passing offense (389.5) and fifth in total offense (525.5). In addition, BGSU is 12th in the country in scoring (45.0).
Senior quarterback Josh Harris is seventh in the nation in total offense (342.5), junior James Hawkins is 13th in the country in receiving yards (117.0) and junior Cole Magner is 16th in the nation in receptions (7.0).
Among the MAC
The Falcons lead the league in total offense and scoring and are second in passing offense.
The BGSU defense ranks second against the rush (117.0) and in total yardage (322.0). The Falcons also rate third in the league in scoring defense (19.5).
Hawkins leads the league in receiving yards per game, while Magner is fifth (99.0).
Harris is third in the league in total offense (342.5). Sophomore P.J. Pope and junior Shaun Suisham are third in the league in scoring (nine points per game).
