Popovich Named MAC Gymnast Of The Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Bowling Green State University gymnast Melissa Popovich has been named Mid-American Conference gymnast of the week (Jan. 19) after establishing the second-best all-around score in BGSU history with a score of 39.225, as well as placing first on the uneven bars and floor in the win over Eastern Michigan.
With the 39.225 all-around score Popovich surpassed her previous-best all around score of 38.975, which she set last season. Along with placing first in the all-around, she also finished in a tie for first on the uneven bars (9.850) and floor (9.875). She also placed third on the beam (9.825) and fourth on vault (9.675). Her score on beam and bars matched her career-bests in both events.
Popovich and the Falcons return to action on Friday, January 23 when they travel to Cape Girardeau, Missouri, when they face-off with Southeast Missouri State University at 7:00 p.m.
