FALCONS HAVE BEEN TOUGH AT HOME
The Falcons are 6-1 at home this season and 3-0 in the MAC at Anderson Arena this season. BGSU is playing the first of two straight games at home. The Falcons will host Marshall at 3:30 p.m., Saturday.
THE SERIES WITH THE FLASHES
BGSU (60 wins) and Kent State (72) are the two winningest teams in conference play since the 1998-99 season. The Falcons will be looking for their first win at home against KSU since the 1999-00 season when they defeated the Golden Flashes, 71-61. Last year, BGSU won 78-74 at the MAC Center, while KSU took home a 73-67 win in Anderson Arena.
WHEN SHOOTING BETTER THAN 50 PERCENT
The Falcons are 4-1 this season and 22-3 since the 2001-02 season when making more than 50% of its field goal attempts in a game. The Falcons are the top shooting team in MAC games only hitting on 49.3 percent of its field goal attempts through seven games.
FALCON OFFENSE IS BALANCED
The Falcons have won five of its last seven games and have won four straight games at home. In conference play, BGSU is averaging 75.7 points and are shooting 49.3 percent from the floor and 40.0 percent from three-point range in their seven MAC games this season. BGSU has one of the most balanced threesome's in the conference with sophomore Ron Lewis and senior Kevin Netter averaging 16.7 points and junior John Reimold contributing 16.5 points against league foes.
NETTER NAMED MAC WEST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Senior Kevin Netter was named MAC West Player of the Week after he scored 23 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had a career-high five blocked shots against Toledo. Netter shot 66.7 percent from the field, connecting on 10-of-15 field goal attempts, to increase his season rate to 55.4 percent, second best in the MAC. Netter's 23 points was 10 above his average of 13.1 ppg. It is the second time in his career that he has won the award.
