Falcons Open Indoor Season

SAGINAW, Michigan - The Bowling Green State University track and field team opened their indoor season Friday night (Dec. 10) at the Saginaw Valley Indoor Classic inside Ryder Arena. Though no team scores were kept, several Falcons had impessive performances.
As a team the Falcons brought home 10 first-place finishes.
In the sprint events, sophomores Jessica White and Nicole Standback, as well as senior Amber Walker combined to tally four of the ten top first-place finishes. White set a meet record in the 60-meters with a time of 7.71, while Standback captured the 60-meter hurdles with a 8.94. Walker took home top honors in both the 200-meters (25.84) and 400-meters (59.55).
BGSU also captured first in the 3,000-meters with the help of Andrea Pollack. The sophomore won the event with a time of 10:55.82.
The Falcons brought home victories in two relay events as well. Lyndi Springer, Kim Settle, Heather Gustin and Jenny Hall captured the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:06, while Settle and Gustin were joined by Nicole Suitor and Jamie Roflow in the distance relay with a time of 12:18.82.
Senior Kerri McClung won the shot put with a mark of 48-07.
The final Falcon to finish atop the list was Erica Wilson. The sophomore won both the high jump (5-06) and long jump (18-06.25).
Up next for the Brown and Orange will be on January 15, when they will host the BGSU Invitational. The meet is set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
