Cleveland, Ohio - Years ago as legend has it, Paul Brown was scouting a BGSU football game for players to join his All-American Conference team in the 1940's and thought so much of the Falcons' color scheme that he adopted the same look for his Cleveland Browns.
Some 60 years later, the Browns will look again to BGSU to provide a spark.
On Tuesday, the Browns announced they have signed former BGSU All-American quarterback Josh Harris from the Baltimore Ravens practice squad. He will likely serve as the backup to Luke McCown when the Browns play San Diego this Sunday.
Harris was a sixth-round pick of Baltimore this past year but has not been active for any regular season game. He set several school records at BGSU, including rushing touchdowns (43) and points (284). He finished second in school history with 7,503 passing yards and 55 touchdowns. He went 24-8 as a starter for the Falcons.
His father, M.L. Harris, played ten seasons in the NFL as a tight end, six with the Cincinnati Bengals.
