FALCONS BEGIN TOUGH STRETCH
BGSU will begin a stretch which will see them play four of five on the road, including games at Miami, Western Michigan (February 7) and Kent State (February 14). Beginning with the ESPN Bracket Buster on February 21, the Falcons will play four straight games at home before concluding the MAC regular season at Eastern Michigan, March 6. If the MAC Tournament were to begin today, BGSU would be tied for the fifth seed, while Miami would be fourth.
THE SERIES WITH THE REDHAWKS
Miami holds a 68-40 lead in the series, but BGSU has won seven of the last eight meetings, including three in a row at Millett Hall. The Falcons won last year's lone meeting, 51-48, in Bowling Green, while also capturing a 65-50 victory over the RedHawks, in their last visit to Oxford two seasons ago.
WHEN SHOOTING BETTER THAN 50 PERCENT
The Falcons are 4-1 this season and 22-3 since the 2001-02 season when making more than 50% of its field goal attempts in a game.
FALCON'S TRIPLE THREAT OFFENSE
BGSU has three players among the top 11 scorers in MAC play with junior forward John Reimold averaging 17.8 points, sophomore guard Ron Lewis contributing 17.3 points and senior center Kevin Netter averaging 15.2 points in nine league games. Lewis had 31 points, while Reimold added 28 in the Falcons' 88-73 victory over Marshall on Saturday.
SCORING MILESTONES
Senior Kevin Netter needs 32 points to become the 33rd player to score 1,000 points or more in a career at BGSU. He is averaging 18.1 points in his last seven games. Netter is looking to become the second current Falcon to score 1,000 points during his college basketball career. Junior John Reimold, who played his freshman year at Loyola (Md.), has scored 1,074 points in two-plus seasons, including 672 with the Falcons the last two years. He scored 402 points as a freshman at Loyola and has averaged 15.2 points as a collegiate player. Sophomore guard Ron Lewis needs nine points to become the second player at BGSU since freshman eligibility was restored in 1973 to score 700 or more career points by his sophomore season. Anthony Stacey had 890 points after two years with the Falcons. Lewis has scored 691 points.
