Falcons to Face CMU Friday

AKRON, Ohio - The first day is in the books at the Mid-American Conference Softball Tournament, and the evening games produced a few surprises. The top-two seeds each fell by identical 1-0 scores at Firestone Stadium Thursday night (May 13). As a result of one of those upsets, the Bowling Green State University Falcons will meet top-seeded Central Michigan University in an elimination game Friday afternoon (May 14) at 1:30 p.m.
The Falcons, seeded sixth for the six-team, double-elimination tournament, dropped a 3-0 decision to third-seeded Western Michigan in the first game of the day. The Broncos then returned to the field to deal #2 Kent State a 1-0 loss in Thursday's third game.
Fourth-seeded Miami topped fifth-seeded Ohio by a 7-2 result, then used a first-inning run to down CMU, 1-0, in the final contest on Thursday.
