BGSU's Craig Pickerel Named All-America Scholar Recipient

Norman, Okla. - Bowling Green State University's Craig Pickerel (Genoa, Ohio) has been named a 2004 Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar Recipient for Division I, as voted on by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
There were 82 Division I men's golfers named by the GCAA as Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars this season.
Pickerel was recently named to the Mid-American Conference All-Academic team for the second-straight season. He holds a 3.84 grade-point-average in architectural design. He also was named the 2003 BGSU Male Junior Scholar-Athlete of the Year
Pickerel tied for 19th place at this year's MAC Championships in Westerville, Ohio, with a 54-hole score of 225 (71-79-75). It was his best finish in three years at the MAC Tournament. Pickerel finished the season tied for second on the team with a 75.79 average in 38 rounds.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically and competed in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70 percent of his teams competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II and 79.0 in Division III and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 in Division I and 3.0 in Divisions II and III. A recipient must also be of high moral character and in good standing at his college or university.
