Bowling Green, Ohio - For the last three years, the Bowling Green State University offense has enjoyed its share of accolades. Numerous records have been broken and a large portion of the credit was deservedly thrust upon quarterback Josh Harris, receivers such as Kurt Gerling, Robert Redd, Cole Magner and Charles Sharon and linemen like Dennis Wendel, Jon Mazur and currently Scott Mruczkowski. While all of the above have played a huge role in the resurgence of the Falcon program, this year's group of four talented running backs may play the largest part if BGSU hopes to continue as one of the top programs in the MAC. "Our priority is always focused on our ability to run the football," said BGSU Offensive Coordinator Greg Studrawa. "We have a stable of guys now at the running back position and that really solidifies any offensive attack." Junior P.J. Pope, a candidate for the Doak Walker Award, was a first-team All-MAC pick after rushing for 1,005 yards and 10 TDs. He also caught 48 passes for 433 yards and has averaged 5.4 yards per carry in his career. he is the first Falcon ball carrier since 1993 to earn All-MAC recognition. Junior B.J. Lane rushed for 498 yards and also caught 15 passes for 101 yards. He enters the season as BGSU's all-time career leader in average yards per carry at 6.4. Sophomore Raishaun Stover has show great improvement after rushing for 159 yards and three TDs as a redshirt freshman. He also averaged 6.4 yards per carry. Sophomore Dan Macon also is a talented performer who is waiting for his opportunity. He rushed for 52 yards on 14 carries. All totaled, the quartet accumulated 2,530 all-purpose yards a year ago.
