Xavier Shuts Out BGSU, 4-0

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - BGSU took on the Musketeers of Xavier today at 4p.m. at Mickey Cochrane Stadium.
The Musketeers went into the game 1-1-0, as the Falcons of Bowling Green were in search of breaking their five game losing streak.
The match was evenly played between the Falcons and the Musketeers with 11 shots for BGSU and 14 for Xavier.
Xavier connected at the 25:14 mark with an unassisted goal by Matt Soldano to put Xavier on the board.
Xavier kept the 1-0 advantage going into the second half, and didn't take long to increase their lead to 2-0 in the second half with a goal assisted by Joe Fleckenstein and scored by Jon Enders at the 46:05 mark.
Tyler Dollins had four saves in the second half but was unable to stop the Musketeers. Midfielder Toni Skudrzik gave Xavier a comfortable lead with his goal at the 60:23 mark.
Bowling Green tried to fight back with three shots by Omari Aldridge and two by Matt Yanick.
Xavier sealed their victory at the 89:03 mark with an unassisted goal by Nick Frasher.
Thompson's Remarks....
" It was a disappointing result. I didn't think they were four goals better than us. We had opportunities but need to create more, we had a challenge putting it in the net. Their keeper played an exceptional game."
" We are still getting punished for mistakes. We need to find our best four for the back."
" This week we are going to bounce back, get focused and start training for Michigan."
The next match for the Falcons will be Friday when they travel to Ann Arbor to take on the Wolverines of Michigan at 5p.m.
