Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University football team will enter the 2004 season with three sophomores and a true freshman battling for time under center this season. "All of them are dangerous in their own right,"said BGSU Offensive Coordinator Greg Studrawa. "These guys are athletic and they make good decisions, but until you get experience at game speed there is always an unknown." Redshirt sophomore Omar Jacobs will get the first crack to replace All-American Josh Harris. Last year, he completed 19 of 28 passes for 345 yards and four TDs. In addition, he rushed for 89 yards and two TDs. "Everyone has confidence in his ability to lead the offense," said Studrawa. "It's important that the players around him step up." Junior college transfer Jason Washington (6-2, 200) comes to BGSU from Long Beach City College where he threw for 1,790 yards and 11 TDs last year and rushed for 350 yards. Freshman Anthony Turner (6-2, 218) threw for 1,800 yards and 18 TDs as a senior at Dayton's Chaminade-Julienne High School. Redshirt sophomore Van Johnson (6-1, 197) begins his third year in the program.
