Falcons Host Two Weekend Matches

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University tennis team dives into the 2005 portion of the schedule with a pair of home indoor matches this weekend. The Falcons will take on Wright State University on Saturday (Jan. 22) and Youngstown State University on Sunday (Jan. 23), with both matches scheduled to be played at Shadow Valley Tennis Club in the Toledo area.
Saturday's WSU match begins at noon, with Sunday's first serve at 11:00 a.m.
Shadow Valley is located at 1661 South Holland-Sylvania Road in Toledo. Directions are as follows:

From Bowling Green (from the south)
* Take Interstate 75 North for approximately 10 miles
* At exit 192, take the ramp (LEFT) onto I-475 [US-23]; proceed approx. 8 miles
* Exit at Airport Hwy (exit 8) and turn right
* Turn right at the first light (Holland-Sylvania Rd)
* Shadow Valley will be on the left

This weekend marks the start of 20 scheduled dual matches in the 'spring' portion of the Falcons' 2004-05 campaign. Head coach Penny Dean's squad will play 11 consecutive non-conference matches before diving into the Mid-American Conference portion of the slate.
A total of 11 matches will be at home, with six scheduled for Shadow Valley and five more to be played at BGSU's own Keefe Courts. Following this weekend's action, the Falcons will head north to take on Michigan State on Sat., Jan. 29, before beginning the month of February with two matches at Shadow Valley, against Butler (Feb. 5) and Indiana State (Feb. 6).
After trips to Chicago and Milwaukee for two matches apiece, the Brown and Orange will host Cincinnati (Feb. 25) and Xavier (Feb. 27) at Shadow Valley.
The MAC schedule begins with five consecutive home matches, before the Falcons hit the road for four-straight conference contests to close the regular season. The MAC Championships will be held from Thursday-Saturday, April 28-May 1, in Toledo.
