Bowling Green Head Coach Gregg Brandon
On running back B.J. Lane
"A huge game. 24 carries, 141 yards. Offensively, we were able to run the ball and use the clock there in the fourth quarter to win the game."
"We talked at halftime that if our defense could buckle down and keep them out of the end zone that we would win the game. That's what we did. Our defense came out and kept them out of the end zone. That was the key. They rushed the ball on us effectively but we kept them out of the end zone."
"It wasn't a stellar performance by any stretch, but you know what, it's tough to win on the road in this league. I really believe that."
"It was a hard-fought win and right now, we're in the grind mode. We're grinding. We're working hard to get victories."
On the running game
"We have to be able to run the football. We felt like we could run right at them. We felt our offensive line could knock them off the ball and we felt B.J. could make yards and control the pocket. That's really what we did in the fourth quarter and helped us win the game."
Buffalo Head Coach Jim Hofher
"I think the UB Bulls did a very credible job today competing against one of the elite offenses in the country and certainly one of the most elite teams in the Mid-American Conference over the last five years. I'm really proud of how our kids battled and fought."
"We got some meaningful takeaways for the first time in a game this year defensively. We did some decent things that were an improvement offensively, running the football. In the end, we did not make as many good plays as what Bowling Green had."
"Our coaches, on defense, I thought put together a very solid plan that our players on defense executed very, very well. But they made a few more plays, certainly, in the second half than we did."
