Moten To Join Men's Basketball Team In Alabama

Bowling Green, Ohio - Freshman men's basketball player Brian Moten (6-4, 175) has met NCAA initial eligibility requirements and will be able to practice and compete for the Falcons beginning this weekend when BGSU plays two games in Alabama.
He is a 2004 graduate of Arthur Hills High School in Saginaw, Michigan where he averaged 28 points, six rebounds and three assists as a senior. He was a three-time All-State and All-Saginaw Valley League selection . He was named Co-SVL MVP as a senior and was fifth in the voting for Mr. Basketball in Michigan in 2004.
Last spring, he attended Eldon Academy in Petoskey, Michigan and averaged 35 points per game for the prep school. He was enrolled as a part-time student at BGSU this fall and achieved the necessary score on the SAT to meet NCAA initial eligibility requirements.
In December of 1998, Keith McLeod joined the team under similar circumstances at Wisconsin-Green Bay and had 14 points in his first game. McLeod, who is now a member of the Utah Jazz, would go on to become the second all-time leading scorer in Falcon history with 1,895 points and earn MAC Player of the Year honors in 2002.
