Ashley Jakupcin Named MAC Player Of Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Bowling Green State University tennis sophomore Ashley Jakupcin has been named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week, the league office has announced. Jakupcin earns the honor for the second time in her collegiate career.
On Saturday against Butler Jakupcin won No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-2. She also teamed up with freshman Jenna Nussbaum in secondflight action and won, 8-3.
On Sunday against Indiana State Jakupcin and Nussbaum won 8-3, in second-flight action. In singles action Jakupcin took care of Joanne Schickerling in straight sets at the second flight.
Jakupcin went 4-0 for the weekend.
The Falcons are 5-1 on the season and look to compete against Illinois at Chicago at 10a.m. and DePaul at 12p.m this weekend (Feb.12-13) in Chicago, Illinois.
