Falcons to Face Kansas State in First Round of NCAA Championships

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team has learned the date, site and opponent for the Falcons' next game. BGSU, the Mid-American Conference regular-season and tournament champion, has advanced to the NCAA Championships. Bowling Green has been named a #13 seed in the Kansas City Regional, and will face #4 seed Kansas State University in Seattle, Wash., on Saturday, March 19. The game will begin at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time (8:00 p.m. Eastern), and will be televised by ESPN2.

The Falcons and Wildcats will enter the game with identical records of 23-7. Bowling Green won the Kraft MAC Tournament title with an 81-75 victory over Kent State in Saturday's (March 12) championship game. Saturday evening, Kansas State lost a 68-55 decision to Baylor in the Big 12 Tournament championship contest.
The starting time for the BGSU-Kansas State game will be announced either Sunday night or Monday (March 14). The winner will advance to the second round on Monday, March 21, and will play either #5 seed Vanderbilt or #12 seed Montana.

BGSU is appearing in the NCAA Championship for the seventh time, and the first time since 1994. The Falcons have an all-time record of 1-6 in the national tournament.
KSU, making an appearance in the NCAA Championship for the ninth time, and the fourth consecutive year. Kansas State has a 7-8 record in its previous eight trips.
BGSU and K-State will play in the third game of the day at Bank of America Arena. #2 seed Baylor will meet #15 Illinois State at 11:00 a.m. Pacific, with #7 Texas Christian facing #10 Oregon approximately 30 minutes after the opening game ends. Vanderbilt and Montana will conclude the day's action, tipping off approx. 30 minutes after the end of the BGSU-KSU game.
