DeKALB, Ill. - Quoting Bowling Green State University women's basketball coach Curt Miller, after the Falcons' 75-72 win at Northern Illinois University Tuesday night (March 1)...
"I can't tell you how proud I am of this team. They are so resilient, and stayed so confident. What a game to gut out, because Northern played as well as they have all year."
(On Ali Mann, who was questionable for the game due to injury, but had 20 points)
"I did not want to play her, but we needed a spark, and I thought her presence might give us that spark. She got in there, looked at me and said she felt OK. In the second half, I kept asking her if she was OK, but she is just such a gamer. You just never know when you might be in position to win a MAC championship, and Ali wanted to be a part of that. We will get her off of her feet for a long time now, and get her ready for the MAC Tournament, but what an emotional lift she gave us tonight."
