Gymnastics Finishes Third At Cal State Fullerton

FULLERTON, Calif. - The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team finished third with a team score of 192.250 at Fullerton, California, inside the Titan Gymnasium Sunday evening. San Jose State won the meet with a final score of 193.025, followed by Cal State Fullerton (192.400), BGSU and Suny Cortland (183.700).
The Falcons took home the top two spots on the bars with junior Jessica Bradley (9.775) and sophomore Sakura Tomita (9.725) each having solid performances. Senior Kari Elste finished in a five-way tie for third with a 9.700.
Freshman Jacquelyn Bernhardt led the Falcons on the vault with a 9.600, for fifth-place. Seniors Kristin DiPietro (9.575) and Breanne Metzger (9.550) rounded out the top three for the Brown and Orange on the vault.
DiPietro and Jessica Guyer tied for seventh-place with a 9.750 on the floor exercise.
Guyer also led the Falcons on the balance beam with a 9.675 for a fourth-place finish. Bradley finished sixth on the beam with a 9.600.
Up next for the Falcons is a trip to Kent, Ohio, for the All-Ohio Championships on March 19.
