BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University softball team concluded a successful weekend with another win at Carter Park on Sunday (Sept. 18). For the Falcons, the string of shutouts came to an end, but the winning streak continued, as BG posted a 6-1 win over the University of Toledo.
Falcon pitchers Hayley Wiemer and Liz Vrabel, who combined to allow a total of only four hits in Saturday's (Sept. 17) three wins, each saw action against UT. Wiemer, a freshman, threw four innings, allowing one run, while Vrabel, a senior and the 2005 Mid-American Conference Pitcher of the Year, worked two scoreless frames in the six-inning win.
Wiemer helped her own cause with three runs batted in, including a two-run homer, while senior Lindsay Heimrich and junior Lauren Hoffman each drove in a run in the win.
The Falcons' next action will come at the Ohio Charity Classic in Columbus on Oct. 1-2.
