BGSU Cross Country Raises Money for Hurricane Katrina Victims

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's and women's cross country teams, although not directly affected by hurricane Katrina, they were saddened by it and decided to do something to help out the victims of the hurricane. They were then told about the University of New Orleans cross country and track teams desperate need for clothing/ monetary contributions and decided to help.
They decided to hold a run-a-thon, which was held on the afternoon of Friday, September 16th. Runners were going to spend one hour running and donations could be made in a straight amount, such as $10, $25, $50, etc. or on a per lap basis.
After all was said and done, and all donations received, the men and women were able to raise $1220 for the University of New Orleans cross country and track and field teams.
