EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Bowling Green Falcons were unable to hold off the strong offensive attack of the Michigan State University Spartans, whose early goal set the tone for the 3-1 Falcon loss. BGSU now drops to 2-6-1 while the Spartans advance to 3-1-4.
The Spartans took the early led after a Doug DeMartin goal in the third minute of regulation and carried it through to the half.
The second half began much like the first with the Spartans' Steve Doster slipping one past the Falcons in less than two minutes. MSU's third score was knocked in by Ryan McMahen.
The Orange and Brown's Omari Aldridge had the lone goal pushing his scoring streak to four games.
The loss to MSU gives the Falcons a 1-1 record against the Big Ten in 2005.
Bowling Green will travel to Loyola University Chicago, Sunday, to take on the Ramblers. The 1:00 p.m. match will be the last test for the Falcons before they begin conference play on Oct. 7 when Northern Illinois visits Cochrane Stadium.
