Falcons Host Central Michigan This Saturday

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team will open the home portion of their home schedule this weekend by hosting the defending regular season MAC champion Central Michigan Chippewas, this Saturday. The meet is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. inside the Eppler Complex.
LAST WEEKS ACTION AT THE ALL-OHIO CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Bowling Green State University gymnastics squad fell 190.200-189.375-186.700 to Ohio State University and Kent State University respectively last Saturday in Columbus, Ohio. Senior Jessica Guyer finished first on the vault with a 9.725 to lead the Falcons.
Guyer (9.725) and Jayme Stambaugh (9.700) posted the top Falcon performances on vault, while Jillian Stranges (9.600) and Jholeen Ponce displayed their skills on the balance beam. Sophmore Candice Deacon posted a 9.600 on the floor, while Jessica McArthur (9.500) and Deacon (9.425) were the top performers on the uneven bars.
A LOOK AT THE CHIPPEWAS
The Central Michigan women's gymnastics team has yet to start their season, with their first meet coming against the Falcons. The Chippewas are favored to win the MAC regular season.
CMU returns five letter winners from last season's regular season championship squad. Seniors Mattie Crawford, and Stephanie Langley will lead the squad, which will also include juniors Jules Passy and Sheena Smith along with sophomore Danielle Espinoza.
The last time these two squads met CMU won 194.675-190.900.
SCHEDULE REMINDER
Following the meet with the Chippewas from Central Michigan the Falcons will stay at home to face Illinois State and Northern Illinois for the next two weekends at 7:00 p.m., then they will take to the road for five away meets. Then the Falcons will end their season with their last home meet on March 17th at 7:00 p.m. against Eastern Michigan.
