BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University tennis team heads to East Lansing, Mich., for the ITA Midwest Region Championships this week. The tournament, hosted by Michigan State University, runs from Oct. 19-24 at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility.
The tournament begins Thursday morning (Oct. 19) at 9:00 a.m., with qualifying draws. Senior Ashley Jakupcin and freshman Samantha Kintzel are part of that qualifying draw, where players will compete for spots in the singles main draw.
In singles action, Jakupcin will face Tanyhi Dudhela of the University of Michigan in the opening round, while Kintzel will meet the University of Minnesota's Karina Chiarelli.
Two BGSU tandems will participate in the doubles main draw, which commences Friday (Oct. 20) at 2:00 p.m. Kintzel and sophomore Stefanie Menoff will comprise one doubles team, while junior Jenna Nussbaum and sophomore Kelsey Jakupcin will form the Falcons' other duo in East Lansing.
