Falcons Set Six Personal Records at Jesse Owens Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Bowling Green set six personal records at the Jesse Owens Invitational this weekend, competing in a Mid-American Conference and Big Ten-heavy field.
Nora Ritting opened up the distance events for the Falcons, finishing in 4:49.55 in the 1500-meter. Regina Rose then notched a 12th place finish in the 5000-meter. Her 16:52.79 race was a new personal record and keeps her at seventh on BGSU's all-time 5000m list.
In the field, Lily Tomasheski recorded a 39.72m throw in the javelin, placing fifth. Viktorie Krizova threw for 32.36m in the same event. Grace Bradtmueller threw the hammer 45.99m as Sierra Podolan (42.19m) and Sydney Williams (41.10m) each threw personal records.
Saturday morning, Bowling Green began with the shot put. Sierra Brinson (14.25m) finished eighth and Podolan (13.09m) finished 12th, each setting new personal bests, as Tomasheski finished 13th at 12.70m. Podolan had a strong all-around day, setting personal records in both the hammer and shot put.
Emma Hoffman (42.80m), Natalie Vrancken (41.45m) and Brinson (41.29m) placed eighth, ninth and 10th in the discus, respectively. Bradtmueller also threw for 35.73m.
The Falcons took to the track in the afternoon, where Marissa Boone ran a 2:14.59 800. Viktorie Krizova concluded the meet in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking a personal best in the semis at 14.61. In the finals, she ran a 14.80.
Next week, BGSU will head north for the Hillsdale Last Chance Meet in Michigan on May 6.
