BOWLING GREEN,Ohio Head coach Fred Thompson and the BGSU soccer Falcons will travel to Kalamazoo for their last scheduled match of the 2006-07 season. Host Western Michigan University is an even 2-2-0 in the conference and is 5-10-1 in 2006. The Falcons are 0-4-0 in the conference and have a 3-12-1 overall record.

The Falcons are in the hunt for their first conference win after dropping a 2-1 decision at IPFW...Kyle Williams scored his first goal of the season and second career goal...keeper Paul Shoemaker recorded three saves on five shots on goal.

Western Michigan Team History
Head coach Chris Karwoski ranks as one of the longest tenured coaches in WMU soccer history...last season the Broncos posted a 9-9-2 overall record and a 2-2-1 MAC record...the team returns five starters and nine lettermen from the 2005 squad that lost in the MAC semi-finals.
WMU in 2006
WMU's season-high three game win streak was upended by Michigan State in a 4-0 loss on Wednesday...entering the match the WMU defense had not allowed a goal in three matches...MSU had a single goal lead at the intermission, but the Spartan offense then kicked into high gear to roll three additional goals in the second half.
WMU and the MAC
The Bronco's are an even 2-2 in conference play...they have clinched home field advantage in the first round of the conference tournament...depending on the outcomes of Friday's matches, WMU will host either the Falcons or IPFW for Tuesday's conference tournament play-in match.
BGSU/WMU Series History
Bowling Green leads the all-time series 24-8-3 and has dominated the scoring advantage...the last time BGSU defeated the Broncos was a 1-0 victory in 2001 at Mickey Cochrane Field...the Falcons tied WMU 2-2 at home in 2003...the last Falcon road victory in Kalamazoo came in a 2-0 shutout in 2000...largest win at WMU, 7-1, in 1992...the BGSU defense has held the Broncos scoreless seven times on the road.
