BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University (2-9-1, 0-1-0) will welcome the Bulls of the University at Buffalo (7-3-1, 1-0-0) for their second conference match-up on Friday afternoon. The MAC match will begin at 3:00 p.m. at BGSU's Mickey Cochrane Field.

Paul Shoemaker made four saves en route to his first shut-out victory as a Falcon on Tuesday evening...BGSU snapped a six-match losing streak in their 3-0 win over the University of Detroit (5-5-1) at Detroit's Titan Field...the shut-out also ended a winless road streak dating back 29 matches to a 2-2 double overtime tie at Cleveland State on October 16, 2003...entering the match, Bowling Green had not shut-out the Titans at home since September 25, 1997...Alec Perea, Justin Kim, and Cameron Hepple each scored in the victory...George Davis, Ryan Perea, and Justin Kim assisted on the respective goals...the score was Hepple's first as a Falcon.
Kim Soars and Scores
With his one goal and one assist in Detroit, Justin Kim upped his offensive production and is responsible for a team high eight points...his three goals tie newcomer Ahmad Smith...Kim is also one of two Falcons to have two assists to date...George Davis IV is the other.
Three is a Charm
Under head coach Fred Thompson, three has become a lucky number...in three of the Falcons four victories in 2005, BGSU boasted three goals...also in both their first home and road wins, BGSU scored three times...the home win was September 23, 2005 over nationally ranked Ohio State, 3-2 (2OT)and the road win was Tuesday in Detroit, 3-0...the three goal victory was the largest margin of victory under Thompson...current Falcons George Davis IV and Ryan Perea each recorded points in both victories.

Buffalo Team History
For the 18th season, head coach John Astudillo presides over the University at Buffalo squad...he brought with him a 144-136-25 record to the 2006 season...the 2005 squad finished at 14-3-2 overall...their 2-2-1 conference record qualified the team for a third place finish...sixteen letter winners, including seven starters return from last year's squad.
UB in 2006
The Bulls are currently on a two match win streak...their last loss came at home on September 22 at the hands of Duquesne University (2-1)...the squad has not lost a road match since Loyola-Chicago beat UB, 2-1, in Illinois on September 8...the Bulls have not beat an opponent who has scored more than two goals...in their wins, UB has not allowed more than one goal.

Leads the conference with three players receiving Player of the Week honors...the Bulls are 1-0-0 in conference play...the road victory came in the form of a 1-0 shut-out at IPFW...junior Dan Stevens has picked up an assists in four straight contests, and currently leads the MAC in that category in his first season with the Bulls...in games through the morning of October 2, UB led the MAC in shots (144), goals against average (.61), shut-outs (6)...the Bulls also were tied atop the leader board with 18 goals and an average of 1.64 per game...UB is also allowing a conference low .64 goals per game.
BGSU/UB Series History
Since UB joined the MAC in 1998, BGSU has owns the overall record at 5-3-0...UB has captured the win in the last two meetings...last season the then #21 Bulls scored four goals and shut-out the Falcons in Buffalo...in the only overtime match of 2004, Buffalo won 2-1 (OT) in Bowling Green...BGSU is 0-2 in overtime against the Bulls at Mickey Cochrane Stadium...the 1998 and 2004 matches ended in 2-1 UB decisions...in more than one OT the Falcons are 2-0...BGSU posted a 1-0 (3OT) win in the opening round of the 2001 MAC tournament...the Falcons also took the Bulls to two overtimes in a 1-0 victory in Buffalo in 2003...against the Bulls, the Orange and Brown are an even 2-2 at home in regular season conference play.

Soaring in the MAC
With their Tuesday shut-out, BGSU becomes the fifth MAC school to not allow an opponent to score...IPFW is the last school to allow a goal in every match this season...the Falcons are averaging 5.18 saves per game, the second best in the MAC.
Painting the MAC Orange and Brown
Each of the Falcon keepers are ranked in the conference in the saves category...in eight matches Paul Shoemaker has recorded 30 saves and averages 3.75 per game...Shoemaker ranks fifth among MAC keepers...with his shut-out on Tuuesday, Shoemaker becomes the 6th MAC keeper to hold an opponent scoreless...Brent Petkus and Mark Scholz rank eight and ten, respectively...in two matches Petkus has made 14 saves while Scholz has 13 under his belt...eight of Scholz's saves came against Michigan State in his collegiate debut...Alec Perea and Justin Kim continue to be ranked among conference players in several shots categories.
