The Falcons won a one-point game for the first time since defeating Virginia Tech, 72-71 on the road in the second game last season. The Falcons lost two one-point games last year at home against NIU, 75-74, and at Ball State, 62-61. That game at Virginia Tech also was won at the buzzer.
BGSU improved to 32-6 at home against non-conference foes under Dan Dakich.
The win was Coach Dakich's 145th of his career at BGSU putting him one behind John Weinert for fourth place on the all-time Falcon list.

Senior Martin Samarco led the Falcons with 23 points and made four of eight from three-point range. He is averaging 25 points per game in his last two games.
Senior Matt Lefeld scored a season-high 12 points and made five of eight field goal attempts in 20 minutes.
Sophomore Erik Marschall had 10 points and six rebounds and made five of seven shots from the floor.
Sophomore Dusan Radivojevic had a season-high eight points and added five assists.
Junior Ryne Hamblet made the game-winning layup at the buzzer and also had six assists. He is averaging 5.3 assists per game. He had four points and five rebounds.
Sophomore Darryl Clements had a three-pointer and tied his career-high with six rebounds. He also had three assists.
Freshman Ryan Sims nailed his fourth three-pointer of the year and had three boards and two assists in 15 minutes of play. He is second on the team in three-pointers.
Freshman Brandon Bland saw his first playing time of the season.
Freshman Otis Polk had two points and a rebound in the first half.
The Falcons will play two more Sun Belt opponents in the next two games. BGSU hosts Troy, December 2 and Arkansas State, December 4.
