BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University baseball team announced six signings Wednesday (Nov. 8) afternoon. Brooks Mohr, Clay Duncan, Patrick Martin, Ryan Schlater, Brennan Smith and Charles Wooten III will join the Falcon family for the 2007-08 season.
"We are excited to bring in the best athletes possible, and the type of young men that are true student-athletes, ones that excel both on the field and in the classroom," said Head Coach Danny Schmitz.

Duncan comes to Bowling Green from Norwalk High School where he compiled a .386 batting average with nine doubles and 18 RBI his junior season. He is the son of Bob and Sherry Duncan.
"One of the best all-around hitters in the state," said Brown. "We classify him as a `gamer,' when you put him in the game he is noticed because he plays hard and is always in the right place at the right time."
Martin is a left-handed pitcher out of Clay High School that also plays in the outfield. The 6'1" speedster batted .441 last season while also compiling a 0.78 ERA. He is the son of Dan and Joyce Martin.
"One of the best defensive outfielders in the area," saidSchmitz. "Also a left-handed pitcher that is very solid and a kid that can flat out run. He throws three pitches for strikes and is a real competitor on the mound."
Schlater is a Graham High School product out of St. Paris, Ohio. He posted a .394 batting average and brings a high-level of versatility to the Falcons. He is the son of Mark and Shirley Schlater.
"He is a great athlete and plays multiple positions," said Schmitz. "He runs well, hits well and we like his athleticism."
Smith is a right-handed pitcher courtesy of Perkins High School. Has struck out 91 batters in 66.0 innings pitched while posting a 0.21 ERA with three saves. He is the son of Steve and Linda Smith.
"He comes from a winning high school program and a top summer league team," said Schmitz. "He's a winner. A good all-around athlete that also led his soccer team far in the tournament."
Wooten's strikeout to walk ratio is higher than 3-to-1 while at Woodmore High School with an ERA of 2.59. He is the son of Chuck II and Jill Wooten.
"Charles has really come on the last year or two," said Brown. "He really has a lot of movement on his pitches and is a guy that we think is going to get better every year."
