GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - Martin Samarco scored 19 points and Brian Moten had all 18 of his points in the second half, as Bowling Green held off Jacksonville State 77-69 Friday at the Oneida Casino Holiday Classic.
After building a 35-30 halftime lead, the Falcons (9-3) had to fend off several Jacksonville State rallies, as the Gamecocks (3-9) tied the score four times in the second half but never took a lead.
Will Ginn had 18 points, seven assists and six rebounds for the Gamecocks, and Dorien Brown added 16 points and nine rebounds.
Bowling Green held just a 62-59 lead with 3:34 left, but the Falcons hit their final eight free throws down the stretch.
Jacksonville States Harold Crow scored 10 straight Gamecocks points during one stretch of the second half and finished with 15 points.
Nate Miller also chipped in 13 points, nine rebounds and five assists for the Falcons, who have won eight of their last nine games.
