Opening Statement
"I thought offensively we were pretty good. I really liked the contributions. It was nice to see someone other than Samarco score. Although Samarco had 29 points, I thought he was fantastic. I thought he played with a real purpose."
Do you think you took better shots?
"It seemed like we did. It seemed like we had patience and moved the ball around. It felt like more guys are beginning to understand where to go in the offense, cutting and moving as opposed to standing around. It's a long season and this was a tough weekend because of the Saturday - Monday turnaround. With a young team I was really concerned but I thought we handled ourselves really well."
What did you think of Erik Marschall's performance in this game as opposed to the last time you met Arkansas State?
"In this game he was really good. I thought in the first half he was the reason we were able to really get up in the lead.
"I can't remember making 13 three's in a game. A lot of them were inside out. It's easier to make them that way because you take a step in."
Sophomore Dusan Radivojevic
You guys were on fire tonight shooting, can you elaborate on that?
"When we played the first time at Arkansas State we shot 26-percent and tonight we just came back."
Are you feeling more comfortable where your shots are coming from?
"Definitely. Before the season started I talked with coach about it and I have to be more of a driver and passer because I think I can pass the ball really well."
Freshman Ryan Sims
Were they giving you a lot from the outside last game?
"We had open shots last game and we weren't knocking them down. Today we really knocked down our shots and I think that really made the difference."
Did you see a lot of difference in Martin Samarco's attitude for this game?
"I really did, because in our locker room we posted up our last score when we played them and we knew we lost, so we focused on them beating us. I know Samarco was really focused on this game. I remember he said he was putting on his track shoes, so I knew he was going to go out and do something."
Arkansas State Coach Dickey Nutt
"First of all I give them a lot of credit. Now you know why we were really happy about the win over this team in Jonesboro. This is just an outstanding program. If you look around its easy to see what we had to face tonight in this outstanding team - they are very solid."
"Obviously, I was worried about coming in with the energy level and it certainly showed in the first half. But I thought they really did a go job of not letting go of the rope in the second half. They played well and played hard."
"I am really proud of some performances such as Darrel Jackson doing an outstanding job for us. He really came in and got the energy going. Also, Abayomi Ajasin did some good things on the inside. I thought Adrian Banks did a good job too. But the bottom line is we lose and now we have to get back home where we can regroup and get ready to play at home. I still have confidence in this team, however I hate losses but we do have to learn from them. I think we learned toughness and Bowling Green is certainly a very tough basketball team and they shot very well tonight."
