Devon Parks/Kory Lichtensteiger Share MVP Honors At 2006 Football Banquet

Bowling Green, Ohio - Senior defensive end Devon Parks and junior center Kory Lichtensteiger were named co-MVP's of the 2006 BGSU football team at this year's end of the season banquet.
Parks was named first-team All-MAC this season. He had 55 tackles and was tied for seventh in the MAC with 13.5 tackles for loss. He also had nine sacks which was third in the league and 24th in the nation. For his career, he finished with 185 tackles, 36 for a loss and 21 sacks. He set a school record for a defender by starting in 47 of his 48 career games.
Lichtensteiger also was a first-team All-MAC choice after earning second team recognition as a freshman and as a sophomore. He is the first BGSU offensive lineman to gain All-MAC accolades three times in in his career since center Heath Wingate who was honored three times from 1964-66. Lichtensteiger anchored an offensive line which finished second in the league in rushing (176.7) and third in fewest sacks allowed (20).
