"We just have to be smarter on the fouls. Obviously, you argue about them in the game and stuff, but we just have to smarter, keep our hands off on the drive. I think a lot of our fouls came when guys were driving. It is something that we've worked on and need to continue working on."
Difficult to find a rhythm in the second half because of the foul situation? "It was tough. Obviously, with Steve (Wright) and (Martin) Samarco having limited minutes in the second half, you know those are our two cutters that get some open baskets."
"At the end of the day, the difference in the game I thought, quite frankly, were, I know (Kashif) Payne hit one of them and (Anton) Currie hit the other one (Note: Currie's three gave UT a 56-53 lead with 7:22 remaining which they would not relinquish), those two big threes at the end of the shot clock. That kind of typifies, in my opinion, the second half. Toledo, those guys made plays when they needed to make plays and we had opportunities, on the rim, open shots and we just didn't make them and we didn't make the plays. I thought those two shots were really big in the basketball game, I really did."
"I thought it was a physical game, I thought it was a game where both teams competed hard, but having said that, I thought it was that we, I'm not sure we controlled it, but we were certainly in the lead for 30-32 minutes and when those kids were out, we didn't make plays, offensively, that we needed to make."
"But give them credit. They did the things that they needed to do and they made the plays that they needed to make."
Toledo Head Coach Stan Joplin
"We made some plays down the stretch. I think the last 22, 24 possessions we only had one turnover, which I think is big for us."
