Women's Golf Opens Spring Season This Weekend

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University women's golf team, and their new head coach Stephanie Young, open the 2006 spring season this weekend in Rio Verde, Arizona, for the fourth annual Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational. The 17-team event will take place from March 2-4.
Competing for the Falcons this weekend will be Amanda Bader, Carley Hrusovsky, Lindsey Jonkhoff, Kari Liggett, Jessica McCann and Amanda Schroeder.
2006 Field: Arkansas-Little Rock, Ball State, Bowling Green, Bradley, Eastern Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri State, Northwestern, Ohio, Southern Illinois, Texas Tech, Toledo, Western Michigan (host), Xavier.
Dates: Thursday - Saturday, March 2-4, 2006 (Practice round on Wednesday, March 1)
Location: Rio Verde, Ariz.
Course: Rio Verde Country Club (Quail Run Course)
Yards: 6,100
Par: 72
Format: 17-team competition, consisting of 54 holes -- 18 holes on Thursday, 18 holes on Friday, 18-holes on Saturday with a practice round on Wednesday.
Tee Times: Wednesday (practice round) -- 1 p.m. shotgun start; Thursday -- 1 p.m. shotgun start; Friday -- 1 p.m. shotgun start; Saturday -- 8:30 a.m. shotgun start (Six players/Count Four format).
