BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Chris Davis, a Jackson, Miss. native, has officially signed on as a Falcon and will join the men's soccer program in the fall.
Head coach Fred Thompson is looking forward to Davis, the first member of the Class of 2010, arriving on campus and believes the defender will make an impact for the Orange and Brown immediately.
"Chris is a big center back who is very good with the ball," said Thompson. "He loves to win the ball back and loves to play when he has it. "
Among the many characteristics Davis will bring to the squad, Thompson attributes his 6'3 frame as one of his most valuable.
"His physical abilities and skills should enable us compete at a much higher level," said Thompson.
Davis' background includes membership in the starting line-up at both the club and prep levels. In club play, Davis led the Central Jackson Soccer Organization (CJSO) to three consecutive state titles and a Superclubs Regional Championship in 2003.
He was also a four-year starter for Callaway High School and Coach Carlos McGregor where he helped advance the team to a state semifinal. Davis was selected to play in the 2005/2006 All-Star High School game.
