Men's Golf Finishes Seventh At Birkdale Collegiate Classic

The Bowling Green State University men's golf team shot a final round 297 for a 54-hole score of 914, placing them seventh in the 12-team tournament at the Birkdale Collegiate Classic. BGSU, who improved following each 18 holes, also had two golfers post their best round of the tournament on the final day of competition.
Leading the way for the Orange and Brown was Jace Walker. He finished in a tie for 28th after shooting a 229. The first 36 holes saw him post back-to-back 80's, but the final 18 holes he matched his career-best with a three-under 69. Heath Ziglar finished just one stroke behind Walker after carding a 230 (74-80-76).
Also competing for the Falcons were Tommy Lopez (76-76-79-231, T-36th), Dan McIntyre (80-75-78-233, T-43rd), Trevor Spathelf (83-76-74-233, T-43rd), Russell Goodwin (79-82-74-235, T-50th) and Brad Dearsman (84-81-78-243, 63rd).
There were a total of 68 golfers competing.
Up next for the Falcons is a trip to Huntington, West Virginia for the Marshall Invitational set to begin on April 7.
