BGSU Hosts Eastern Michigan on Senior Night

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team will square-off with Eastern Michigan Friday, (March 17) at the Eppler Complex. The opening events will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Last Week's Action Against William and Mary
The Bowling Green State University gymnastics squad fell short last Saturday to the Tribe from William and Mary by a score of 188.350-187.475. The Orange and Brown were led by junior Allison Swafford who tied for second on the vault (9.650), and finished second on the floor with a 9.700.
Jessica Guyer (9.625) and Jillian Stranges(9.575) were among the top on the vault finishing fourth and fifth respectively. Over on bars Jholeen Ponce shined as she flipped to a 9.475 and a fourth place finish. Jenna Wirtanen and Jessica Bradley also contributed on bars tieing for sixth with scores of 9.325. On beam Jessica Bradley would shine finishing third with a 9.375. Stranges flipped to a 9.600 and a fourth place finish. Erin Coudriet recorded her first top five finish on the year as she tumbled to a 9.575.
Clipping the Eagles
The Eastern Michigan Eagles come into the meet 3-2 in the Mid-American Conference and 6-8 overall. The Eagles are lead by Rebecca Fuss who recorded her first all-around title with a total of 38.525. Sophomore Jolene Worley tied for first on the bars recording a 9.750. The Falcons led the series 16-14, however last season Eastern defeated the Orange and Brown 193.900-191.875.
Schedule Reminder
With the road trip over and the Falcons competing in their last home meet, next week will be the MAC Championship. The meet is scheduled to be on Saturday March 25 at 2:00 p.m. in Kalamazoo Mich. on the campus of Western Michigan.
