Ebersbach Named Director of Football Operations

Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green State University football coach Gregg Brandon has announced that David Ebersbach has been named Director of Football Operations for the Falcons.
In this newly created position, Ebersbach will act as a liaison to the University, athletic department and community, work closely with Student-Athlete Services in monitoring the teams academic needs, organize preseason camp and team travel, organize special events such as the team banquet and golf outing, monitor the teams budget, assist in recruiting weekends, and coordinate facility usage.
"We are excited to have David and his family at BGSU," said Brandon. "He will handle many critical elements of our program and brings a lot of enthusiasm and passion to the position. He should mesh well with our entire staff."
Ebersbach comes to BGSU from Hanover College where he has worked since 1998. During his tenure at Hanover, he has served as an assistant coach working with wide receivers for five years and linebackers for two seasons. He also has served as the teams recruiting coordinator, special teams coordinator and video and technology coordinator. In addition, he was the athletic department's strength and conditioning coordinator and was an instructor of physical education.
From 1996 to 1998, Ebersbach served as an assistant coach at Bluffton College where he was special teams coordinator and wide receiver coach. He also taught and coached for the Fauquier County Public Schools in Warrenton, Va. from 1990-96.
He earned a masters degree from BGSU in 2003 in developmental kinesiology and a bachelors degree from West Virginia Wesleyan in mathematics and secondary education in 1990. He played four seasons at WVWC.
BETTCHER NAMED DEFENSIVE GRADUATE ASSISTANT
James Bettcher, who had spent the last three years as an assistant football coach at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana, will be the squad's defensive graduate assistant. A native of Lakeville, Indiana, Bettcher coached the defensive line for two years and the offensive line and special teams last season. He helped the Cougars to the NAIA semifinals in 2003 and NAIA championship game in 2004 and 2005. He also served as the school's head coach for track and field.
He was a two-time All-American in football at Saint Francis and three-time All-American in the shot put for the track team. He also was a three-time NAIA All-American scholar for the Cougars.
He earned his bachelors degree in business management and accounting from USF in 2003. He is pursuing his masters degree in sports administration.
