Anderson, Thurmond Among First Class Of Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame Inductees

Bowling Green, Ohio - Eight former players joined BGSU men's basketball coach Dan Dakich and several others with BGSU ties to celebrate the induction of Nate Thurmond and Harold Anderson to the initial class of the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame. The star-studded event was held May 20 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
"It was a tremendous event to be a part of and it was a great night to spend with so many who have been a part of the BGSU basketball family," said Dakich. "With the outstanding tradition and success that many have had during their time as Falcons, I anticipate this will be a special event annually."
Also lending their support for Anderson and Thurmond were former players Tom Baker, Burley Chapman, Derry Curran, Bob Dwors, Butch Komives, Ted Norris, and Billy Reynolds. Also in attendance were former chair of the Board of Trustees Sharon Cook and her husband, Don, Assistant A.D. Jane Myers, former A.D. Jim Lessig, and supporters Bill Wammes and Bill Frack.
Nineteen individuals were inducted for their playing ability, nine programs were enshrined, seven coaches were honored, two administrators were chosen and one official was recognized for their outstanding contributions.
