BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Tennis seniors Andrea Meister and Heidi Romer were selected to the 2006 Academic All-MAC team as voted by league Faculty Athletic Representatives. The duo were the only student-athletes selected with perfect 4.0 grade point averages. Both Falcons are Early Childhood Studies majors.
Leading the way with four selections was league champion Western Michigan as seniors Raiya Hiranrat, Reedhina Parekh and Malena Remynse and junior Carrie Jeanmarie were honored.
Rounding out the squad are Jessica Thompson of Ball State, Kristen Ortman of Buffalo, Yana Parfenyuk of Eastern Michigan and Eunice Paravicini of Toledo.
For Romer, it was her third consecutive selection to the academic team. Repeating from last year's honors were Thompson, Hiranrat and Perekh.
Due to ties in the voting the squad was expanded by two extra spots from eight to 10. Nominees must have a minimum 3.20 cumulative grade point average to be eligible for the team.
