BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University women's golf head coach Stephanie Young has announced the signing of Megan Gormley (Shoreview, Minn.) to a National Letter of Intent. Also joining the Falcons will be Hannah Lambert (Brock Park, Ohio) for the 2006-07 academic season.
"I am very pleased to announce the recent signing of Megan Gormely and Hannah Lambert," said Young. "This is yet another exciting step in building our team into a contender within the MAC Conference. Both of these young ladies have had outstanding high school golf careers and are working hard to improve for their next challenge of competing in college. I look forward to coaching them next season."
Gormley is set to graduate from Mounds View High School in June. She is a two-time team captain and a three-year letter-winner for the golf team. She was named the rookie of the year in her conference in 2004 and was named to the all-conference team a year later. Gormely currently maintains a 3.5 grade-point average.
Lambert, a native of Brook Park, Ohio, is set to graduate from Midpark High School in June. She was a four-year letter-winner on the golf team. This past season she was named Southwestern Conference Player of the Year after finishing medalist or co-medalist in 13 of 14 rounds. She was also named to the first-team all-conference three straight seasons. Lambert maintains a 3.9 GPA.
