Men's Cross Country Welcomes New Athletes

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Head coach Cami Wells has announced several new athletes to the men's cross country team including Eddie Kipchoge of Eldoret, Kenya (Amesens), Bradley Wells of Portage, Ohio (Bowling Green/ The College of the Cumberlands), Dennis Hange of Wooster, Ohio (Wooster/ The University of Rio Grande), and Kylie Kilbane of Brunswick, Ohio (Brunswick).
Eddie Kipchoge: Kipchoge is a native of Eldoret, Kenya (Arnesens High School) and is the son of William and Peris Kipchoge He plans to major in nursing. His list of accomplishments includes running personal bests of 23:50 for 8000m, 14:24 for 5000M, and 3:52.55 for 1500m and 1:51.09 for 800m.
I am really looking forward to having Eddie join us this fall. He has a very impressive running resume and is someone we can count on to come in and make an immediate impact. Having another front-runner will really help us take a big step toward our ultimate team goals," said Wells.
Brad Wells: Wells is a native of Portage, Ohio by way of Dickinson, North Dakota (Dickinson High School). He attended Bowling Green High School. He attended the University of the Cumberlands in 2004 and 2005 before transferring to Bowling Green. He is the Son of Gerry and Robin Wells as well as the brother of Coach Cami Wells and plans to major in International Studies. His list of accomplishments include running personal bests of 25:51 for 8K in cross country and 9:15 for the 3000m Steeplechase, and 4:00 for 1500m in track. He was the runner up at the North Dakota State Cross Country Meet in 2000. He led Dickinson High School to the Team Championship in the North Dakota State Cross Country Meet in 2000. He was a State Champion Indoor Track North Dakota 1500m, 3000m in 2001 as well as a member of the State Champion Outdoor Track and Field North Dakota 4x800m relay in 2001. He was a State Runner up Outdoor Track North Dakota 1600m in 200. He was a member of the Second Place Team U.S. Junior National Cross Country in 2002. He earned All-Ohio honors in Track and Cross Country in 2003.He finished 10th in the Division I Ohio State Meet in Cross Country in 2003. He also finished eighth in the 1600m at the Division I Ohio State Meet Track & Field in 2003. He was the Mid South Conference Champion in the Steeplechase in 2005 and was named to the First Team Mid South Conference Cross Country for 2004 and 2005 seasons. He was a NAIA National qualifier in Cross Country in 2004 and 2005. He was also named to the First Team All Region 12 Cross Country in 2004 and 2005
"I am very happy that Brad has decided to join us here at BGSU. Bradley is a gifted runner and will really bring some much needed depth to the squad. Brad has proven himself to be very competitive at the NAIA level and looks forward to the challenge of running NCAA Division I level cross country," said Wells.
Dennis Hange: Hange is a native of Wooster, Ohio (Wooster High School) and is a transfer from the University of Rio Grande. He is the son of Don and Dianne Hange and plans to major in Business. His list of accomplishments include running personal best of 28:18 for 8K and 17:02 for 5K in cross country and 10:10 for 3200m and 4:40 for 1600m in track. He was a member of the Wooster High School cross country team that finished 6th at the 2002 Ohio State Meet and 3rd in the 2003 Ohio State Meet. He was also a member of the Wooster High School cross country team that won the 2002 and 2003 regional championship. He earned first team all conference honors in cross country both his junior and senior year. He was a member of school record-breaking 4 X 1600m relay team.
Kyle Kilbane: Kilbane is a native of Brunswick, Ohio where he attended Brunswick High School. He is the son of Terry and Lynette Kilbane and plans to major in Secondary Education. His list of accomplishments include running personal best times of 16:57 for 5k in cross country and 10:13 for 3200m in track. He was a three time regional qualifier, a three year letter winner in track and cross-country. He served two years as team captain and chosen consecutive year for the leadership and coach's award.
