Swiger Wins MAC East Player of the Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Junior Stephanie Swiger is the MAC East Player of the Week, announced the Mid-American Conference office on Sept. 18th. It marks the second time a Falcon has won the award this season after Senior Chrissy Gothke captured the honor two weeks ago.

Swiger led the Falcons to a perfect 4-0 weekend, capturing the Country Inn & Suites Classic and being named Tournament MVP. The Findlay, Ohio native paced Bowling Green with 48 kills at a .306 hitting percentage. She excelled defensively as well, compiling 1.20 blocks per game. Swiger recorded double-digit kills in three of the four matches, including a 17 kill-performance against Duquesne.

In the only match she struggled offensively, Swiger still altered the match with seven blocks. She capped off the tournament by hitting .421 and racking up six blocks to clinch the tournament crown against St. Francis.
