Movin' on Up: Falcons Make Final Day Charge at Xavier Invitational

On the final day of the Xavier Invitational, the Bowling Green men's golf team made a charge up the leader board, moving from 15th place to 10th place on Tuesday.
Captain Jace Walker led the charge for the Falcons on the final day. Walker entered the final round with a total score of 211 after he went 7-under par on Monday. On the last day Walker would continue his efforts by shooting a 74, and finishing in a tie for 14th.
Andrew Ladwig trailed Walker by three strokes in the tournament. Ladwig caught fire on Monday when he shot a 70 in the second round. He continued his streak turning in a final day score of 71 to put him at 2-under for the tournament.
Sophomore Matt Schneider had a banner day on the course. After finishing the second round with a score of 76, Schneider battled his way to a 69. His final round score was the best of any Falcon on Tuesday at the Xavier Invitational.
John Powers cut nine strokes on the last day to finish in a tie for 62nd (73-79-70). Powers shot a 70 on the day to finish just two shots behind teammate Matt Schneider.
Gavin Aldridge wouldn't settle for the pair of 79's he shot on the first day. Aldridge climbed up the leader board on Tuesday when he shot a 76 to tie for 94th place at the tournament.
The Falcons will travel to Hopkinsville, Ky. for the Austin Peay Invitational at the end of the month before wrapping up their schedule at the MAC/Big East Challenge.
