Men's Golf Signs a Pair to National Letters of Intent

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University men's golf head coach Garry Winger has announced that Parker Hewit and Drew Preston have signed National Letters of Intent and will be joining the Falcons for the 2008-09 season.
"We are extremely excited to have Parker and Drew join the Falcon golf family," said Winger. "They are both exceptional people on and off the course and will be great additions to the squad."
Hewit, a native of Westfield, Ohio, currently attends Cloverleaf High School. He is currently ranked the third-best junior golfer for the 2008 graduates in the state of Ohio by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard (NJGS). He finished 15th at the Westfield PGA Junior Golf Championship this past fall. His sister Hillary is a current member of the BGSU track team.
Preston, a native of Ada, Mich., currently attends Forest Hills Central High School. He is currently ranked third in the state of Michigan by the NJGS for 2008 graduates. He finished third at the Michigan State Junior Championships with rounds of 70, 70, 71. He finished first at the Division I State Championships in 2006, as well as being named to the Michigan Boys All-State Super Team that same year. This past fall he recorded a 67 in the final round of the AJGA Midwest Players Championship, which was tied for the lowest round of the tournament.
