BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (BGSUFalcons.com) - Each week, Bowling Green State University Assistant Vice President/Director of Athletics Greg Christopher answers a few of the many questions that have been submitted to BGSUFalcons.com. Here is the latest installment ...
Q: Our attendance dropped below 15,000 for the most recent home games. Are we now in danger of being under the NCAA attendance mark for the season?

A: Given where we stand right now on ticket sales for the Bowling Green/Toledo game, we are assured of meeting the NCAA's 15,000 average attendance requirement for the 2007 season.
As a quick recap, here's how the figures work...
- Schools can report either tickets sold using a formula that is tied to the highest regular seat price or actual attendance. The formula chosen must be used throughout the season, so departments can't plug in actual attendance for one game and switch to paid attendance for another.
- BGSU reports and uses paid attendance. With no-shows, our paid ticket count is always higher than the actual.
- The numbers we report for the media box score are paid attendance. Occasionally the figures will change slightly for the final NCAA report based on our ticket audit.
- For NCAA purposes, students count as paid attendees when they enter the stadium. This stems from the fact that students are admitted to BGSU sporting events by using their student ID's.
