BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team remains 18th in the nation for the second consecutive week, according to the latest Associated Press Top-25 poll. The poll was released Monday afternoon (Feb. 12).
The Falcons averaged 85.5 points per game in picking up a pair of wins last week. BGSU downed visiting Ball State by an 86-76 count on Wednesday (Feb. 7), in a battle of the Mid-American Conference's divisional leaders. Then, on Saturday morning/afternoon (Feb. 10), the Brown and Orange went on the road and picked up an 85-76 win over Northern Illinois.
BGSU gained a total of 40 points in the poll, with 419 points this week. The wins over BSU and NIU move the Falcons' records to 22-2 overall and a perfect 11-0 in MAC play, and BG will put a 28-game home winning streak -- the longest active homecourt winning streak in the nation -- on the line Wednesday night (Feb. 14). The Falcons host Akron at venerable Anderson Arena, with starting time set for 7:00 p.m.
