The Falcons are 5-3 in dual-match action this season, and won three duals at Shadow Valley last weekend. BG topped Duquesne (4-3), Xavier (6-1) and Detroit (7-0) on back-to-back-to-back days.
The Bulldogs enter the match with a 9-3 dual-match record, including a 7-2 mark in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) action. Ferris finished third at the 2006 GLIAC Championships. All of FSU's matches came during the fall, as the BG match marks the team's first action since Oct. 28, 2006.
All nine players on the BGSU roster picked up at least one singles victory last weekend, and eight of the nine players won at both singles and doubles during the weekend sweep.
Sophomore Stefanie Menoff continues to lead the Falcons in singles wins, with a 14-1 record after three wins last weekend. Overall, Menoff has a 24-7 mark this year.
Freshman Samantha Kintzel has a record of 21-12 this year to date, including an 11-6 record in singles play. Kintzel, who played at the top singles flight vs. Detroit for the first time in collegiate dual-match play, has teamed with Menoff for a 5-2 doubles mark during the spring schedule.
Sophomore Kelsey Jakupcin has an overall mark of 18-15, while junior Jenna Nussbaum has 16 overall wins this year to date. Freshman Katia Babina (13), senior Ashley Jakupcin (12), junior Andrea Volle (12) and sophomore Libby Harrison (10) each have double-digit win totals in 2006-07.
Following the FSU match, the Falcons will be in action twice next weekend. BG will head to East Lansing, Mich., for a Feb. 24 match vs. Michigan State, before returning to Shadow Valley for a dual vs. Butler the next day (Feb. 25). That Butler match is the Falcons' final action until March 18.
