Can you talk about what you have to do to perform better against some of the top teams you're going to be facing?
"We have to come out and play hard. Today we came out kind of flat. We have to play hard, especially at the end of our schedule. We are playing the better teams at the top of the MAC, and we have to come and play hard and get some momentum going into the MAC tournament."
Can you talk about playing against Jerome Tillman and Leon Williams inside?
"We knew going into the game that [Leon] Williams was good on the glass, especially on offensive glass. "
"It didn't work out so well, we let them get too much penetration and we had to help too much and that left them open looks on the perimeter and in the paint."
BGSU coach Dan Dakich
"It's about as disappointed as I have ever been in a game. I think that Ohio played well, coming off the game they had the other night. They showed leadership and they showed they were veterans. They played great and we were awful. I think from start to finish, we got up 6-0, but still we were not very good all day. I didn't think we were guarding them and I didn't think we ever got a handle on them. I thought when they went to zone we looked like we had never played against the zone. We played a lot against the zone and a lot against that zone, but we got into the game we looked awful."
Was it difficult to guard against all of their players?
"We knew we had to do something on the post. They kept [Whitney Davis] on the weak side and we had to help him, and they skipped it to him and he drilled shots. We knew that he was about 28 or 29-percent 3-point shooter. That was part of it, if we didn't do that they were killing us inside early so we had to make an adjustment. This was about the best stretch we have had between the Buffalo game and the Morehead game and to come out and play like this is inexcusable."
Can you talk about Leon Williams' performance on the inside?
"Leon Williams does what he does, which is going down in the block and works like crazy. He's one of the few guys, he and Joe Reitz (WMU) they just go down there and go to work. We had to help. He got a couple of baskets early and he's got great hands, physically strong hands. We had to get help and he dominated everybody that we had inside and he did it from start to finish."
What do you think of Tim O'Shea's comments regarding streaks during a teams season?
"He's being nice. They outplayed us. It's strange, you win a game like we did the other night. Everybody is happy so we had dinner or lunch at my house, and then you come out and practice pretty hard on Monday and practice pretty hard on Tuesday, have walk-throughs today and guys have a ton of energy, ready to go. We come out and absolutely not [perform]. He's being nice. Their shooting was certainly a part of it. Our side of it, being in certain spots denying passes and being where you are supposed to be just wasn't there. We weren't there from the start. That allowed them to do a lot of good things. When you allow a good team and good players to do things they are going to beat you and beat you bad. We allowed them to do what they wanted to do."
Ohio coach Tim O'Shea
"I guess you never know what to expect when you show up for a game. My
big concern has always been coming into this building and being able to
make shots. Everything is just so different here and for us to be able
to make ten three's tonight was a big surprise, especially with the way
we have been shooting the three ball. That is one of the things I
talked to my coaches about, that we need to get better as a team
shooting three's - not only for this season but in terms of the future.
For us to make ten tonight was just huge and it was a big part of our
victory. I am as surprised as anyone to come in here and have a victory
of that margin. It does not happen very often in Anderson Arena."
"There is a very smart coach I used to work for and he told me about four or five times a year your team will just play out of their minds and another four or five where you just play awful. Tonight was one of those nights and everything was clicking for us. I am glad it happened, but it does not necessarily mean anything for the next game. After three losses we really needed a win."
"I think making shots fuels a lot of your energy and it also spread Bowling Green out to where they had to worry about us making shots. I think it is demoralizing when you are playing a team and you just keep making shot after shot. That can really take a lot of energy out of your defense and what you are trying to accomplish."
"Bowling Green is not exactly a place that you order up to get back on track [after three losses]. The last place I probably wanted to come was Anderson Arena for a game but that is what the schedule said. Again, as a coach you never know how some nights are going to turn out. I thought the best we could hope for was the game to go down to the wire and maybe we would have a chance to win it. Never did I expect to shoot the ball as well and to win by this kind of margin. It is just a total surprise."
