METARIE, Lousiana - The women's cross country team has been recognized as an elite team for their performance in the classroom as announced by the U.S. Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). List of 146 schools, including winner Stanford, puts the Falcons 22nd in the nation in Division I academically with a team GPA of 3.50.
To receive the award, a team must have competed in a NCAA Division I Regional meet and have a minimum cumulative team GPA of 3.0.
This is the sixth year in which the Falcons have been recognized as a team academically.
